1. Where can I purchase CASTI publications outside North America?
CASTI Publications are distributed in Europe by:

2. What are the minimum system requirements for installation of CASTI e-books?
The minimum system requirements for installation of CASTI e-books are:
- Internet connection (broadband recommended). (An internet connection is required to download and install your e-book.)
- Adobe Reader XI
- FileOpen Plugin must be installed: http://plugin.fileopen.com
- Windows Vista (or higher)
- Currently we don’t support Mac computers or tablets
- 100 MB free disk space
- The ability to edit, highlight, and copy and paste in the PDF are not available due to our copyright policy.
- Note: Use of Adobe software may have additional system requirements (Please refer to the Adobe specifications provided with your Adobe software or visit the Adobe website at www.adobe.com for more information.)
- Note: Please consult with your company IT department if installing E-book(s) on a company computer
Please note the following before you order a CASTI E-book.
- CASTI e-books are available as single-user license products only. All CASTI e-book publications are protected by copyright. You are permitted to install your CASTI e-book ONE time on ONE computer only. When installed, your e-book cannot be moved to or accessed from any other computer(s). Please be sure to select an appropriate computer to install your CASTI e-book.
- You are responsible for ensuring that firewalls or other software/hardware configurations do not prevent the CASTI e-book software from authorizing the installation online. CASTI can not provide technical support for your firewall configuration. Please contact your network technical support personnel to resolve such issues.
- If the CASTI e-book PDF file is removed from the licensed computer for any reason, CASTI Publishing Inc. is not liable to replace the e-book. However, at CASTI Publishing Inc.'s sole discretion, a one-time reinstallation may be authorized for current e-book editions only. Outdated or replaced editions will not be supported.
- CASTI Publishing Inc. is not liable for the replacement of e-books lost, stolen, or damaged due to software, hardware, and/or operating system issues which render e-books inoperable or inaccessible. CASTI Publishing Inc. is also not liable for the replacement of e-books lost or damaged due to removal, deletion, or overwriting of e-books whether accidental or intentional.
- You are permitted to create a single hard copy of your CASTI e-book, by printing a copy of it from the computer on which you choose to install the e-book. This is the only way you may create a hard copy of your CASTI e-book. You may not create any additional hard copies through any means; you may not print subsequent copies and you may not photocopy your single hard copy. You may create your single hard copy at any time after purchasing the e-book; however, CASTI will only provide technical support to help you do so within 30 days of your purchase.
- E-book purchases are not eligible for refund, credit, or exchange.
3. I am having trouble installing my CASTI e-book, can you please help me?
Technical support is offered, free of charge, to all registered owners of CASTI e-books for a period of 30 days from the date of purchase. When requesting technical assistance, please provide us with your name, company name, the title of your e-book, and other relevant information so that we can properly assist you. Please refer to the email confirming your e-book purchase for information on contacting CASTI for technical assistance.
4. My PC is not connected to the internet, how do I install my CASTI e-books?
To prevent illegal piracy of CASTI e-books and to protect our copyrights and intellectual property from being stolen, we include security software with each e-book. The security software requires an Internet connection to verify your e-book purchase before authorizing the e-book installation. Please note that the first item listed in the "Minimum Requirements" for CASTI e-books is a working internet connection. If you do not have an internet connection available please consider the purchase of a printed publication.
5. Can I install my e-book on a removeable data storage device such as a memory stick, USB key, etc?
CASTI does not recommend installation of e-books onto removable data storage devices. Once installed, your e-book cannot be accessed from any other computer(s). Please keep in mind that the e-book single-user license allows you to install your CASTI e-book ONE time on ONE computer only. Be sure to select an appropriate computer to install your CASTI e-book.
6. I do not have Adobe PDF viewing software and cannot view my CASTI e-books. Where can I get the Adobe software?
Both Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader can be used to view CASTI e-books.
Adobe Reader is offered as a free download directly from the Adobe website and will allow users to view PDF files on a variety of operating systems. The latest version of Adobe Reader can be downloaded at www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
Adobe Acrobat can be purchased directly from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com.

7. How will my firewall affect the installation of my CASTI e-book(s)?
When you install your e-book, the installation software will attempt to verify your e-book by connecting to a remote server hosting the security verification system. You may have difficulty with the verification if your computer is behind a firewall which blocks the installation software from connecting to the remote server and transferring the verification data.
The installation software attempts to communicate over Port 80 but has no mechanism for authenticating to a firewall so will typically fail when used from behind a firewall that requires authentication. CASTI has no control over your firewall configuration so it is up to you, or your company's IT personnel, to ensure that your firewall will allow the installation software to verify your e-book installation. E-book users are responsible for ensuring that firewalls or other software/hardware configurations do not prevent the CASTI e-book software from authorizing the installation online. CASTI can not provide technical support for your firewall configuration. Please contact your network technical support personnel to resolve such issues.
8. How many times can I install my CASTI e-book?
CASTI e-books are available as single-user license products only. All CASTI e-book publications are protected by copyright. You are permitted to install your CASTI e-book ONE time on ONE computer only. When installed, your e-book cannot be moved to or accessed from any other computer(s). Please be sure to select an appropriate computer to install your CASTI e-book.
Since your e-book is only accessible on a single computer, we recommend that you carefully choose the computer on which you would like to install the e-book.
When you are ready to install your e-book please follow these steps BEFORE you begin the installation:
- Ensure that you are ready to install the e-book without interruption.
- Ensure that your internet connection is working properly.
- Ensure that your firewall, and software/hardware configuration, will allow the installation verification software to access the internet and transfer data. (See FAQ #15 for more information.)
9. Is it possible to upgrade older versions of CASTI e-books to the latest version?
CASTI printed books and e-books are both sold in the same manner, as "books", and not as software applications. CASTI does not offer free updates of printed books when a new edition is released. Likewise, CASTI does not offer an e-book upgrade when a new edition is released.

10. Will CASTI replace e-books lost, stolen, or damaged due to software, hardware, and/or operating system issues?
CASTI Publishing Inc. is not liable for the replacement of e-books lost, stolen, or damaged due to software, hardware, and/or operating system issues which render e-books inoperable or inaccessible. CASTI Publishing Inc. is not liable for the replacement of e-books lost or damaged due to removal, deletion, or overwriting of e-books whether accidental or intentional. CASTI Publishing Inc. is also not liable for the replacement of e-books when the computer on which the e-book has been installed is replaced, reformatted, updated, or changed in any manner.
In general, CASTI e-books are sold as equivalents to our printed books. We treat the e-books in the same manner as the printed books and we allow our customers to choose the format in which they purchase the publication(s). The e-book licensing agreement only allows one copy of the e-book to be installed one time. This is similar to the instance in which a customer who purchases a copy of the printed book only has one copy to read.
As a publisher, we do not offer damage protection covering printed books after they are delivered to the customer. For example, if a customer places his printed book on a book shelf that later collapses and destroys the printed book, CASTI would not replace the printed book even though it was lost/damaged through no fault of the customer. Although unfortunate, the book shelf collapse is not the fault of the publisher either. In a similar manner, we do not provide replacements for e-books that are lost or damaged due to problems with faulty hard drives, operating systems, third-party software, data storage devices, etc.
11. I have a problem with CASTI Library Version 3.4 or older. Is technical support available?
CASTI Publishing no longer supports e-books on CD-ROMs older than Library Version 3.5. We recommend that you purchase a new CASTI e-book to ensure you have publications with up to date technical information.
Technical support is only available to registered CD-ROM purchasers (for a period of 30 days from the date of purchase). Please ensure that you complete the technical support registration form after you have purchased your CASTI e-book(s).
12. I have a question not covered by the FAQ material. How do I contact CASTI Publishing?
If you have a question about your CASTI e-book that is not covered here, you can contact CASTI Publishing by email at casti@casti.ca for technical information and support. Technical support is only available to registered purchasers of CASTI e-books for a period of 30 days from the date of purchase. To help us serve you more efficiently, please include your name, company name, the title of your e-book, and any other relevant information when contacting us.
